About the Owner

Sonia Covington

Owner, Founder, & COO -
Chief Organizing Officer

I have been organizing and designing spaces since childhood; working alongside my mother as the oldest of five kids to help organize, pack, unpack, and establish our family twice a year in a variety of states throughout the US then back home to Florida in the off-season for my father's career as a professional athlete for 16 years.

My love of design and organization continued into adulthood. I honed my skills, learned valuable techniques, and developed custom solutions and systems to meet a variety of needs as they evolved through each of life's transitions, from college to marriage, family, home ownership, and everything in between. Creating purpose in spaces through proper organization meant less stress, anxiety, and frustration.

I spent 21 years of my professional career at large global corporations in Mortgage Banking and Financial Services, specializing in Sales, Training, Marketing, and Project Management, which allowed me to cultivate and deepen relationships, learn through active listening and needs analysis, communicate effectively, lead passionately with endless curiosity, creativity, and innovation, and deliver service excellence.

In 2016, a neighbor needed my help to unclutter, donate, stage, and prepare her home for sale before moving into a retirement home. Her realtor was able to sell her home quickly after my organizing and design services were provided. He, in conjunction with family, friends, neighbors, and other realtors began sharing new client referrals with me. It was incredibly meaningful to impart the value of creating systems and sharing organizing fundamentals with clients, leaving them with a sense of calm, function, order, and beauty.

Practical Organized Perfection was founded shortly thereafter. The purpose behind this name? My emphasis was and remains to combine use/function (Practical), with structured systems (Organized), and achieve beauty/aesthetics (Perfection) as complete and flawless as possible; each client being unique, and space transformed uniquely theirs. I've helped many clients work through daily challenges and a variety of life transitions. Our team welcomes turning your challenges into opportunities.

Designing a functional, organized, and beautiful home for our family is deeply fulfilling to me. Helping friends, family, neighbors, colleagues, and clients address their evolving needs, while working to achieve their goals and desired aesthetics brings me tremendous joy. We should feel good in spaces where we spend most of our lives.

Sustainability:

Being highly aware of the impact we have on our planet, one another, people and animals, and our humanity through our consumption, our team recommends sustainable solutions that are equally beautiful, encouraging us to work together to be the change we need for a more compassionate world.
