Portfolio Examples

Below are just a few examples of the many spaces we've transformed for our clients. No matter how significant a change or small the edit, we welcome sharing additional projects completed as inspiration for your home or small business needs.

Pantry

This kitchen had a designated pantry area under the staircase. The need was to maximize the use of this space. We focused on using 2/3 of the front section with ample height and the door for daily usage and the back section with reduced height for the remaining 1/3 of the space to store lesser-used items. We utilized shelving and added both wall and door storage to maximize use and function.

Items were either decanted and labeled, cans and jars stacked and/or grouped, or placed in wicker baskets. Bulk spices were placed in door bins for quick access by this family who loves to cook and bake, and all available wall space was utilized. Hooks were added for items like aprons, grilling tools, and lunch bags (i.e. a scoop above the large capacity clear rolling dog food container). Acrylic bins were added to the wall to store reusable silicone storage bags, eliminating the use of a kitchen drawer. All was carefully measured, and nothing was crowded.

The baskets with labels used were grouped by similarly packaged items (e.g. Noodles & Wraps, Nuts & Seeds, Baking, Snacks, Cookies & Crackers). Decanted and labeled items were added (e.g. Rolled Oats, Whole Wheat Flour, All Purpose Flour, Walnuts, Pasta), which are helpful when managing inventory. Backstock baskets and containers with labels were also created for those bulk purchases, especially helpful for large families and/or those great sales.

A vented rolling cart was added for storing vegetables (e.g. potatoes, sweet potatoes, squash), to be wheeled into the kitchen as needed, whereas onions and bananas were placed in open wire baskets at opposite ends of the kitchen to protect cart items from ethylene off-gassing.

All supplies utilized less often for gatherings and special occasions were placed in the back of the pantry on lower shelves beneath the staircase (e.g. warming platters, party supplies).

Products/Sources Utilized in this Project:
For this project, a combination of natural materials, clear acrylic, glass, silver, black and white colors were used for a cohesive aesthetic. Water Hyacinth baskets, black label clips, white Elfa door and wall storage system, clear acrylic spin trays, and acrylic drawers were utilized from Amazon and The Container Store. Anchor glass containers in 3 sizes, for all decanted items, on heavy-duty wire shelving from Costco and shelf liners from Amazon. Labels were custom-printed for all baskets, jars, and drawers.

Home Office

This space off of the front foyer has a multi-use purpose. It's the couple's personal home office and small business office. Simple elegance and a beautiful aesthetic were desired. However, storage was a top priority given the need to store family keepsakes, office supplies, and business documents.

A family-inherited cabinet and two black and gold chairs were the starting point, coupled with a desire for a large custom desk as the centerpiece in the room. The client wanted classic white furniture and we chose black countertops and hardware to complement the grey walls, white trim, and white/glass French doors. We created warmth using their cabinet, dark hand-scraped hardwood flooring, and a custom desk which we added. Prints from some of their travels were enlarged and utilized; Italy and Greece images were chosen.

Space planning determined the layout. Consideration was given to the large window on one wall, French doors into the office, custom desk and furniture for storage, chairs across from the desk, space for office supplies, and the placement of all of these pieces had to allow for ample open space and movement.

Products/Sources Utilized in this Project:
The granite top was a locally sourced remnant cut to specification. The wood base was another locally sourced product stained to complement the flooring. The white furniture cabinets and drawers with black countertops were purchased from Ikea using kitchen cabinetry, with soft close doors and drawers, the hardware from Amazon, and the furniture was blended with two open bookcases from Ikea for accessories (i.e. heirloom antique banks, books). The large black picture frames were from Ikea. Labels were custom-printed to organize personal and client files, keepsakes, collectibles, etc.
